Marietta Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A Marietta man has been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder in a stabbing incident. The arrest came yesterday according to Lt. Ryan Flood of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

Last weekend Deputies found the stabbing victim inside a car on the side of North Highway 25 north of Travelers Rest. The sheriff's office has not revealed the name of the victim.

According to arrest warrants Matthew Edward Mcnicholas, 35 of 115 Beechwood Road, Marietta was charged with Assault/Attempted Murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The warrant state

s the stabbing occurred at 107-A Linda Lane, Marietta on or about January 31, 2021. Mcnicholas is believed to have used a black folding knife to stab and cut the victim, according to warrants.
