Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders won the deciding game of the Southeast Regional #1 Tournament in convincing fashion, defeating the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne University with a final score of 13-3 this afternoon at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. NGU led the hit column 11-9 while six errors committed by Lenoir-Rhyne contributed to the game getting out of reach. Michael Rodriguez opened up the game on the mound. He was relieved by Brent Herlong who pitched a dominating 6.1 innings, allowing just five hits, no runs, and no walks while striking out three. After the two teams scored two runs each in the 1st inning, NGU would continuously build up their lead throughout the remainder of the game, scoring three in the 3rd, four in the 5th, and four in the 8th. Tristen Hudson pitched the final inning of the game, allowing a leadoff walk but recording three outs afterwards to end the game. Brent Herlong was the winning pitcher. With the win, the Crusaders move on to the Southeast Super Regional Tournament.
