TR Softball: TR 16 Pickens 11

Carly Anderson doubled to drive in two runs as Travelers Rest defeated Pickens 16-11 in a hard fought Region 1 AAAA softball game on Tuesday (April 12th).

Neely Hartin had four hits in five trips to the plate. She singled in the first, fourth and fifth innings and doubled in the seventh. Anderson was TR's winning pitcher, giving up ten hits, 11 runs in 5 1/3 innings.

As a team Travelers Rest totaled 22 hits in the battle. Neely Hartin was 4 for 5 at the plate with 3 RBI and scored 3 runs; Jaden Dandy was 4 for 5 with one RBI and scored 2 runs. Dandy hit a double and a triple. The team stole a total of five bases. Neely Hartin stole two bases and Riley Hartin stole two while Hope Crain stole 1.

TR faces the St. James Sharks at 6 pm on Thursday, April 14.

BASEBALL - Travelers Rest fell to Palmetto's Mustangs on Tuesday April 12th by a 5-1 score. The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie until the top of the sixth inning when Buddy Davenport knocked one over the fence and scored three runs for a 4-1 Mustang lead.

Harison Estes earned the win on the mound. He gave up five hits and only one run.

Christian Nielsen went five and two thirds innings for TR and gave up four hits.

Caleb Mills led TR at the plate with two hits.

The non-region loss dropped TR to 12-7 overall.

Four days earlier on April 8th TR took a 6-4 victory over Pickens in Region 1 AAAA play at Pickens.
