Riverside 49 Travelers Rest 7

Riverside's Warrior football team continued its dominance over Travelers Rest squads on Friday night at Chico Bolin Stadium. Riverside met little resistance as the Warriors ran to a 49-7 victory and handed TR head coach Michael Lancaster his 8th career loss in 12 games.

Riverside dominated both defensively and offensively. The Warrior defense limited the Devildogs to only 97 yards of total offense, 55 yards passing and 42 yards rushing. Offensively Riverside racked up 450 yards of total offense, 238 yards passing and 212 yards rushing. TR committed two turnovers (pass interceptions) while Riverside had none. TR was 3 of 11 in third down conversions while Riverside had only five third down situations.

TR plays outside Region 3 AAA on Friday August 25th as the Devildogs travel to Wade Hampton. Wade Hampton fell to Seneca in the Generals' season opener 43-0 marking a repeat of the 2022 season opener. Wade Hampton defeated TR last year in the second game of the 2022 season. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 pm.
