Marrah Wins Special Election

Sherry Marrah, a seventeen year resident of Travelers Rest, easily defeated three other candidates in Tuesday's Travelers Rest City Council special election. She ran her campaign on the following priorities: Preserving community green spaces and mountain views as the town grows; promoting and supporting businesses as well as attracting new businesses to TR; and being an advocate for continued traffic management to relieve congestion as Travelers Rest grows.

The special election developed when Council Member Sara Gilstrap resigned upon moving from the Travelers Rest city limits.
