TRPD Will Lower Main Street Speed Limit

In an effort to improve vehicle and pedestrian safety, the "City" of Travelers Rest has requested the SCDOT to lower the speed limit from 35mph to 25mph on Main Street between the Roe Center Ct. and McElhaney Rd. intersections. The speed limit will also be lowered to 35mph in the section of Hwy 276 approaching Downtown from the south, between the underpass and Roe Center Ct. The speed limit changes will take effect in the next 60 days.
