Man Robs Bank Then Waits For Deputies

This afternoon, deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Commercial Bank, located at 8016 Augusta Road, in reference to a bank robbery. Just after 12:40pm, Greenville County Communications Center received multiple alarm activations and subsequently dispatched deputies to the scene. After arriving on scene, deputies discovered the suspect, identified as 26 year-old, Michael Brandon Collins, sitting in the lobby. He was taken into custody without incident. Investigators initiated an investigation and learned that Collins entered the bank around 12:30pm and presented a note to the cashier, demanding money. After taking the undisclosed amount of cash, Collins proceeded to take a seat in the lobby where he indicated he was waiting on the police to arrive. A short time later, deputies arrived and took Collins into custody without incident. Collins was not found to be in possession of a firearm. Collins has been arrested for Armed Robbery and is being transported to the Greenville County Detention Center where he will await a bond hearing.
