Travelers Rest, Pickens Football Games Canceled Due To Covid
Greenville County School District leadership, including the GCS Director of Medical Health Services, met with Travelers Rest High School administration on Monday and decided that this week’s JV and varsity football games versus Pickens have been postponed until a future date after four Devildog football players tested positive for COVID dating back to Tuesday, October 6. Football practice will resume Tuesday, October 13, for symptom-free students and students who are not quarantined. Football training will be structured like the preseason sessions where small groups of athletes will train with a coach and be at least six feet socially distant while wearing masks during training sessions. Neither the school or the school district have announced when these improtant Region 1 AAAA football games will be rescheduled.
Parents, students should not attend class or school functions if they are experiencing a new or worsening cough, loss of taste or smell, or shortness of breath. Students should also remain at home if they have been in close contact with an individual known to have COVID.
