TR Downs St. Joseph's, Blue Ridge Tops Daniel, Pickens Wins Over Daniel, Westside Falls

TRAVELERS REST 6 St. JOSEPH'S 1 - Travelers Rest led the entire game on Monday night for the non-region win over St. Joe's. The Devildogs' six runs came off of 4 hits.


Hunter Cheslak led the way with a double which was TR's only extra base hit in the game.


Gavin Sightler had two stolen bases while Devin Atkins Christian Roder stole one base each.


Mason Thompkins took the win on the mound for TR after going five innings and giving up five hits, walking two and striking out four. He hurled 78 pitches and 50 of those were strikes. Caleb Dodd pitched one innng, gave up one hit and struck out one. Caleb McKirrrick pitched one inning, gave up no hits and struck out 1.


BLUE RIDGE 7 DANIEL 4 - Leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Blue Ridge increased their lead to 7-2 when Bryce Roddy, A.J. Cammarola and Brandt Miller sent runners across the plate and put the game out of reach.


Owen Wallen was the wining pitcher after hurling 3 and 1/3 innings. He gave up four hits and two runs and walked only one. He was replaced by John Michael Watson who went one inning and gave up one hit and two runs. He fanned one batter. Brandt Miller pitched 2/3 of an inning and picked up the save.


PICKENS 17 GREER MIDDLE COLLEGE 6 - Pickens held a 13-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning bu

t GMC scored four runs to avoid the ten run mercy rule. Pickens answered the challenge and put down the mutiny with four runs in the fifth for the five inning 17-6 romp.


Dean Campbell and Hunter Wilson hit doubles for Pickens.



Ryan Ford was the starting pitcher for Pickens and went two innings. Ford gave up one hit, and




one run. He fanned four batters. C.J. Martin relieved Ford, lasted 1 and 1/3 innings and struck out two. Ben Broom relieved Martin and went one inning, giving up one hit and 4 runs. Tanner Tinsley closed the game going 2/3 of an inning and gave up one run and struck out one.



LAURENS 5 WESTSIDE 1 - Laurens downed Westside 5-1 in non region baseball on Monday night in Laurens. Westside out hit Laurens 6-4. Mikey Scott took the loss for Westside as he surrendered four runs on three hits over 4 and 2/3 innings. He struck out six.
