Devildogs Defeat Berea

Jacob Brown scored 25 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, made 5 assists and 2 steals as the Travelers Rest Devildogs defeated arch rival Berea 69-64 in non-region basketball on December 7th. The win improved Travelers Rest to 4-2 on the 2021-22 season.

Additional scoring for TR included: Jackson Duncan 13, Caleb Mills 11, Drew McKibben 9, Jacari Hellams 6 and Hayden Moody 5. Duncan had three 3 point buckets in the game. Berea totals and stats were not submitted.

TR will travel to arch rival Blue Ridge on Thursday, December 9th.

Overall in Region 1 AAAA non region contests Pickens' Blue Flame sports an undefeated mark of 5-0 while TR follows with a 4-2 record. Westside is 3-2 while Walhalla is 2-2 and Easley is 1-3.

While TR is playing Blue Ridge on Thursday night, Walhalla will travel to Crescent. On Friday, TR is idle while Westside hosts T.L. Hanna; Easley hosts Woodmont; and Pickens hosts Liberty. In other games from December 7th Westside fell to J.L. Mann 67-59, Pickens defeated Belton Honea Path 56-47 and Walhalla fell to Rabon County 79-44.

In girls' basketball, Travelers Rest defeated Berea 43-21 details and stats from that win were not submitted. Travelers Rest takes on the unbeaten Blue Ridge Lady Tigers on Thursday night.
