Vehicle Hits Geer Highway Residence

A vehicle left the roadway and struck a house on Wednesday night (June 8) at around 11 pm. The impact of a pickup truck destroyed the front porch of the 1404 Geer Highway, Travelers Rest which is the residence of Ann Elrod. The invading vehicle left the roadway two houses above Mrs. Elrod's home, clipped a mailbox, re-entered the road and veered off through Elrod's front yard and came to rest on her front porch. No injuries were reported in the crash. Mrs. Elrod said this is the second vehicle invasion to her property, several years earlier a vehicle ran off the highway and knocked down a portion of a cement block wall.
